George Martin was born in Greenville, SC.  His family moved to Fairfield, CA; George attended Armijo High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Dianne Martin. Upon high school graduation, Mr. Martin enrolled in college at the University of Oregon.  He majored in Art Education and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in 1975.  Immediately following college, Mr. Martin was drafted in the 11th round by the New York Giants and played defensive end for 14 years.  During his professional football career, he was name “Giants 1975 Rookie of the Year ” and became the team’s: Chapel Leader (1977-1988), player representative (1979-1988), and consultant against drug abuse.  George also served as the President of the National Foot League Players Association (NFLPA) from 1987-1988.

George Martin currently holds the record for the most touchdowns in the NFL for a defensive lineman. He started the NFL's first adult degree completion program, which served as the prototype and was later replicated into all 32 NFL teams. George Martin is Co-Founder and Chairman of Minority Athletes Networking etc., Inc.  He is the winner of NFL's Supreme Court Justice "Byron Wizzer White Award" for most outstanding community service and voted into the New Jersey's Sports Hall of Fame. This Giant on the field and off the field, has dedicated years of service to the following boards: Hackensack University Medical Center, East Organ General Hospital, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and the NFL Youth Football Development.
